To commemorate Her Majesty, the Gyaltsuen’s 28th birth anniversary, the day was started by offering Karmay Tongchey at Dratshang Kuenrey led by Dasho Dzongdag, Offtg. Lam Neten, Dasho Drangpon, Superintendent of Police, Dasho Dzongrab and the staffs of Dzongkhag Administration and few Regional and Corporate office representatives.
In the afternoon, the whole staffs of Dzongkhag Administration were involved in tree plantation in and around Dzong. The species planted were:
1. Benthamedia(25 nos)
2. Nyssa(15)
3. Jacaranda(35nos)
4. Gulmohar(40nos)
5. Cypress(20)
6. Rhododendron(more than 30nos)
Plantation of sapling is followed by mass cleaning of respective areas of different sectors (the area we clean on every last Friday of every month).
After exhausting day of plantation and mass cleaning, refreshments were served in eco and reusable plates as one of the measure to reduce waste by environment sector.
