To promote health and well-being among civil servants and the general public, Mongar Dzongkhag joined the rest of the nation in commemorating the Civil Service Wellness Day today at the Public Ground under the initiative of RCSC in collaboration with MoH. The program began at 5:00 AM with the registration of participants and a briefing on the marathon route.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬:
• 12 km for Women
• 18 km for Men aged 50 and above
• 18 km for Men aged below 49
A total of 352 participants took part in the day's activities, with 325 registered for the marathon and 27 participating in the Zumba/Sorig Zhiney session.
𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬:
• Women’s Category: Out of 122 registered participants, 103 completed the run within the stipulated time of 2.5 hours duration. Completion times ranged from 1 hour 16 minutes to 2 hours 26 minutes.
• Men aged 50 and above: Of the 37 registered, 12 participants successfully completed the course, with finishing times ranging between 1 hour 38 minutes and 2 hours 26 minutes.
• Men below 49 years: Among the 165 registered, 103 participants completed the run. The fastest participant finished in 1 hour 17 minutes, while the last to complete crossed the finish line at 2 hours 29 minutes.
Flag-offs were conducted at 6:30 AM for men and 6:40 AM for women respectively. Simultaneously, a Zumba/Sorig Zhiney session was held at the Public Ground for non-marathon participants.

Following the marathon, the MSTF-CBSS team in partnership with ERRH conducted an awareness session on NCDs, highlighting the importance of lifestyle choices in preventing chronic illnesses. The event concluded with a keynote address by Dasho Dzongdag, followed by a traditional suja-shamdrey refreshment session.
In addition to the main event at the Public Ground, Zumba/Sorig Zhiney programs were also organized at Nagor MSS and Drametse Central School, ensuring wider participation across the Dzongkhag.
