Establisment of CIC centers in five Gewogs under HSF-UNDP in our Dzongkhag

The establishment of five CIC centers in Tshakaling, Chali, Ngatshang, Balam and Dremetse Geog is completed. The CIC equipments is handed over to all the CIC Operators in the above cited gewogs. Day long awareness on CIC is also given to the Community led by Mr. Lakshman Archarya, ICT officer, DIT. In awareness, the DIT team introduce about the establishment of CIC in the gewog. They also talked about the services avail from the CIC to the community.

The basic ICT services avail from the CIC will be:


1. Photocopying
2. Internet facilities
3. Printing facilities
4. Passport snap and printing facilities
5. Telephone and Fax
6. Basic Computer Course (both WINDOWS and Dzongkha LINUX)

The rates for above services are also fixed after discussing with the community. The community is also briefed with the future plans of the E-Governance. Some of the member said that the rates for the Basic computer course are bit high; however, the Chali Operator said that he is being worried how he could sustain by operating the CIC. The people thanked government and UNDP for providing such facilities at the gewog level. One of the publics amongst the community added that there will be so many benefits from the CIC. The People of Drametse gewog said that the cost for above services will be much lower compared to earlier. They said that they are going to Tashigang to get these services.


In the awareness meeting, it comprises of Gup, GAO, Pricipals, Mangmi, Shopkeepers, Tshokpas, Gaydrungs, Chupeons and the public.
