Dzongkhag Agriculture Sector’s priority during the |
|
Guided by the overall Policy objectives and targets of the Renewable Natural Resources, MoA, the main targets for the Dzongkhag Agriculture Sector are:
1. To contribute the national objective of increasing food self-sufficiency and food security consistent, and
2. To ensure cash incomes and raise the nutritional intake levels of the rural population.
In order to support achieve the above priorities, the following are the programmes identified for implementation:-
a. Cereal development programme
b. Horticulture development programme
c. Land management programme
d. Irrigation and water management programme
e. Post harvesting and marketing programme
f. Farm mechanization programme
g. Rural livelihood support programme
h. Institution and Capacity development programme
i. Rural access development programme
j. Plant protection programme
