Tsakaling Gewog

Tsakaling gewog consists of 13 villages with 374 households, covering an area of about 72 square kilometers and has a population of 1596. Lower part of the gewog has access to Mongar-Lhuentse road.

With about 600 acres of land under dry land cultivation, maize is the main cereal crop. Paddy is cultivated but on smaller scale. Rajma beans and dairy products are main sources of cash income for Tsakalingpas.

The gewog has 1 Basic Health Unit (BHU) and 4 Out Reach Clinics (ORC) to render basic health services in the gewog. About 65% of the households have access to piped drinking water supply and around 30% have electricity. The gewog has one primary school and two community schools with over 250 children.
