Thangrong Gewog

Thangrong gewog consists of six main villages with 369 households, covering an area of about 69 square kilometers and with a population of about 1863. Over 400 acres of land are under dry land cultivation. Maize is the main crop grown twice a year. Potato and beans are inter-cropped with maize. About 16 kms farm road connects the geog to the Chasakhar feeder road. Although the road has benefited the portion of the population, most of the villages are remain far flung from the road head. The gewog has one Basic Health Unit (BHU) and four Out Reach Clinics (ORC) to render basic health services in the gewog. The geog has one primary and one community primary school with over 231 children. With 19 water supply scheme about 91% of the households have access to piped drinking water supply.

The Geog has 10 Lhakhangs. They are Ngeyongla Gonpa Lhakhang, Shingbuwoong Lhakhang, Kadam Lhakhang Dungkhor Lhakhang Riphu gonpa Lhakhang Kadam Lhakhang Tongkangla Lhakhang Tongphuwoong Lhakhang Gonpa Lhakhang and one more Lhakhang.
