Ngatshang Gewog

Ngatshang Gewog has eight villages with 384 households and it has a population of about 2109, covering an area of about 71 square kilometers. Many villages have access to East-west highway which passes through the gewog. Maize is the main cereal crop. Paddy and barley are also grown but in limited scale. Dairy products are the main source of cash income for most the farmers.The Gewog has 2 Basic Health Units (BHU) and 1 ORC to render basic health services in the gewog. With more than 15 rural water supply schemes, about 58% of the households have access to piped drinking water supply. The gewog also has a micro hydel which supplies electricity to majority of households. The gewog has one community school and one lower secondary school with over 745 students. The RNR extension services are provided by one RNR Center, one Agriculture extension center and one livestock extension center.

The Geog has seven Lhakhangs, namely, Yoesel Choeling Lhakhang, Dungjur Lhakhang, Tengwogi Lhakhang, Sanga Choeling Lhakhang, Dungjur Lhakhang, Tashi Choepheling Lhakhang, and Gonpa Lhakhang.
