Chali Gewog


Chali gewog consists of 345 households with a population of about 1620 covering an area of 42 square kilometer. Being closer to Mongar, major health services are rendered from the Mongar Regional Hospital. One BHU II is under construction in the Geog and this will help the people of this Geog.Over 77% of the population has access to piped drinking water supply and 75% (about 194 households) of the households have electricity.The Geog has one Community School with 243 students currently being educated. Maize is the main staple food while paddy, barley and buckwheat are also grown. Orange and vegetable are the main source of cash income.

Chali Geog has three Lhakhangs, namely, Karmachholing Lhakhang, Damcha Lhakhang and Dechen Choling Lhakhang.The geog has RNR centre with three staffs to render the services to the people.During the 9th Plan, cash in come of the people has increased substantially. The production in the geog stands second among all the geogs in the Dzongkhag. With a plan to construct a Power tiller road in a coming year, the living standard of the people is expected to improve further.

2. Poultry and Diary production
3. Wet land cultivation
