Message From the Dzongdag

Mongar Dzongkhag, often referred to as the “Gateway to Eastern Bhutan”, is a region of vibrant culture, resilient communities, and growing opportunities. Beyond being a hub of economic activity, education, and innovation, Mongar is also emerging as a prime destination for eco-tourism—renowned for its pristine landscapes, rich biodiversity, and excellent opportunities for bird watching, alongside authentic cultural experiences that capture the true spirit of Bhutan.Guided by the principles of Gross National Happiness (GNH), the Dzongkhag Administration is committed to inclusive development that balances tradition with progress. Our priorities include improving public services, strengthening agriculture, health, education and tourism industry, and promoting sustainable rural development. With active citizen participation, we aim to uplift every household and ensure balanced growth across all gewogs.
